Jamaica-Winhall Roadway Reclaim

PROJECT OVERVIEW

EIV provided outreach services on this $13M, 9-mile long roadway project which included reclaiming the existing roadway, paving with an intermediate and leveling course, limited areas of new curb installation and sidewalk reconstruction, drainage improvements, new guardrail and roadway markings.

 

Communicating project details, delays, and construction schedules in a timely, coordinated and effective manner was essential to ensure that business owners, emergency services, and out of state visitors had the appropriate information needed in order to manage travel plans and expectations. EIV provided thorough outreach utilizing door-to-door flyer delivery and in-person communication to establish rapport with local business owners prior to the start of major construction.

Development of a comprehensive stakeholder list which included area businesses, schools, local municipal offices, emergency services, residents, local ski resorts, inns, and out of state tourists/second home owners was used in order to send weekly email updates and project alerts to stakeholders and interested parties. EIV was essential and effective at assuaging local residents’ and business owners’ frustrations during a lengthy reclaim process. Response to questions, concerns, and frustrations in a timely, professional and productive manner resulted in the resolution of many issues and concerns.
